Valentine's Day

This year I made valentines for my Mom to send to her grand-kids (aka: my nieces and nephews).  I had so much fun making these, and it was great to have Adrienne's help too.  I think love is one of my favorite subjects for making cards, which is unfortunate since my love life is non-existent... But that's okay because there are still a lot of people who love me, and I love them!  I made two cards for nieces and three for nephews. I have a few more nieces, but they aren't really old enough to care yet... so in the coming years I will be making more (not to mention my hopes to make one for a certain "special someone" someday).

So, here are the girls':

He's so perfect for Valentine's day!

I'm using him for an anniversary card, but thought it was an appropriate post for this holiday of love!

Spring

I realize it is not spring yet, but the weather hasn't been extremely wintry either.  I seem to keep making springy sunshiny cards.  I had so much fun making them!

Christmas Cards

 I am in charge of activities for my church womens organization and thought this month was the perfect opportunity to share the card making love so people could have some great cards to send this season.  After gathering some ideas off the internet these are what I came up with: 

I dont know why, but I really love this little guy!  Maybe its the color combination.

 

Adrienne tackled this card, and I really like it!  I may have had a little input in making the little silver ornament caps and tying those teeny bows. 

I dont know what it is, but for some reason I am drawn to the wise men motif...  Outside it says "Wise Men..."  Inside it says "Seek Him Still"  I hope I can be wise like those men of old.

 

A special thanks to Connie Babbert for her tree folding diagram and inspiration!  I downloaded her diagram then opened it in my silhouette software to make it into a cutting file, cutting half circles with the perforations where I needed to fold.  I really love that little robot!

And for this beautiful card I used the silhouette to cut out this lovely manger scene.  It fills me with so many warm fuzzies when I think about the savior coming to the world!  How wonderful that that baby would grow up to save us all!

The activity was a success and everyone really enjoyed their creative experience!

Muffin Tin Advent

At our church's craft day, one of the projects instructed by Dawn the magnificent was a clever advent calendar made from a mini-muffin tin. I thought it was adorable, and we decided to make two as gifts for my brothers' families out in California. I wasn't able to get any done at the church, but thankfully we have all the necessary equipment at home. I love how it turned out:

We included treats (M&Ms) and activity ideas with which they could fill the cups. There are some really good Christmas activities inside! Of course, I whipped up some cards to send too:

O was really excited about giving these to her cousins. Here she is saying "Ta-Da":

Hopefully they enjoy them as much as we enjoyed making them!

Treat Boxes

I wanted to make a little box to hold goodies to pass out with my lesson at church, and took advantage of Jessica & Mom's Silhouette Cameo to make these cute little boxes:
